Child of the Fireflies takes place in the Just Once timeline as a side-story. It follows a human boy named Dimitri after he stumbled across a Kashiano camp. Kashiano's are a sub-species of Magiheks with specifc elemental abilities, and are kept in camps to clean up after the Dierskilg War. Obviously, these Kashianos aren't treated fairly and Dimitri tries to help free them after befriending an energy Kashiano named Chaeries. While Dimitri tries to break her out, her group of allies slowly grow as she's forced to calm down the "troubled" Kashianos.
